Who is responsible?
Codex of Inks is an independent fan project, not affiliated with Disney, Ravensburger or duels.ink. For any question about your data or to exercise your rights, write to: codex.des.encres@gmail.com.
What the site stores
- Your Google account: name, email address and identifier, to sign you in (Firebase Authentication).
- Your profile: display name, the groups you belong to, date of last activity.
- Your matches: inks, results, decklists, opponents' names as provided by duels.ink, notes. They are visible to the members of your groups, and to no one else.
- Your duels.ink token, if you link your account: it is stored in a space only you can read, and is used only to fetch your history.
- Error reports: if the site runs into a technical error, it sends the error message, the open tab, the language and the browser model, without your name or account, so the bug can be fixed.
- In your browser: your token, your name and your display preferences (including the site language), plus a cache of replays and cards, to keep the site fast. Signing out erases what relates to your account.
Services used
- Google Firebase: sign-in and database.
- Cloudflare: hosting of the site and of the relay server. Your IP address is used to limit the number of requests per minute and is not kept by the site.
- duels.ink: your game history (with your token) and the anonymous public stats on the home page.
- Lorcast: card names and English card images. LorcanaJSON and Ravensburger: French card images.
- Discord: only if a group owner connects a channel. Each week, the group summary is posted there: usernames of the most active players, number of games, decks and win rates. In that server, the /replays command also shows, on request, the duels.ink replay links of the group's recent games, with usernames and decks. If you link your Discord account to record matches with /match, the site keeps your Discord ID and username; “Unlink” in your profile erases them.
- Google AdSense: advertising, see below.
Advertising and cookies
The site shows ads provided by Google AdSense, in slots labelled "Advertisement". Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure these ads and, with your consent, to personalise them.
On your first visit, a message asks for your consent. You can change it at any time with the "Manage cookie choices" link, at the bottom of the home page or in your profile. If you decline, non-personalised ads may still be shown.
Learn more about how Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Premium
Every account gets a free 30-day Premium trial: no ads and access to the Cards tab. The site only keeps the dates of your trial and of any subscription. No bank card is required for the trial.
Your rights
Get your data: open your profile, then "My data". "Matches (CSV)" downloads all your matches, archived ones included, in a file to open with a spreadsheet. "Everything (JSON)" downloads everything the site keeps about you: profile, groups, matches, decks, archetypes, game summaries. Your duels.ink token is not included, as it is a secret.
Delete your account: open your profile (your name, top right), then "Delete my account". Everything is erased immediately and permanently: your matches, decks, game summaries, name, duels.ink token and sign-in account. You also leave your groups; if you own a group where other members remain, it goes to the longest-standing member. Matches other players played against you stay in their history, with no link to your account. Archetypes you created remain available to your group, without your name. A backup of the database is made every week and kept for 8 weeks: your data therefore disappears from it at most 8 weeks after deletion. These backups are only used to repair the database after an incident.
You can also ask for your data to be corrected by writing to the address above, and leave a group from the "Groups" tab. If you disagree with how your data is handled, you can contact the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or your own country's authority.
